| Fosshotel Vatnajokull is a popular official 3 star Comfort Tourist Class hotel. There is a restaurant & bar offering a panoramic view of Vatnajokull glacier. During the after dinner Viking hour we serve shark meat and Brennivú‹ snaps. Other facilities include a TV-lounge, internet station in the lobby and free parking. All guestrooms and restaurant/bar facilities are non-smoking. This amazing setting in the southeast of Vatnajokull glacier evokes still, quiet, soothing and peaceful moods. Fosshotel Vatnajokull - our glacier hotel East - is a quiet place, perfect to relax. The film crews and actors of Tomb Rider and the James Bond movie, Die Another Day, stayed in this hotel. Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier (8,456 m2), provides the dramatic setting for Fosshotel Vatnajokull, located by the main ring road 10 km from the port of Höfn and 5 km from the town’s airport.
